Epidemiology
- Communicable Disease
Control - Annual statewide summary report and quarterly updates for
reportable communicable diseases which include, but are not limited to,
Campylobacter, E. coli O157:H7, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B acute and chronic,
Lyme disease, Measles, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Salmonellosis, Shingellosis,
Strepto. A invasive, Tuberculosis (TB) and Vanco. Resistant Enterococci.
- HIV/STD/AIDS
Surveillance - Reportable STDs include human immunodeficiency virus
(HIV) infection, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), syphilis, gonorrhea,
chlamydia and others. Quarterly and annual reports, as well as topical
fact sheets, provide information on statewide trends and summary information
for each county.
- Influenza Sentinel
Surveillance Program - Two tables are updated weekly throughout the
influenza season: Influenza-Like Illnesses Reported by NC Sentinel Sites
and Influenza Virus Isolates Identified by the State Laboratory of Public
Health.
- Animal Rabies
around the state - Tables and maps showing the spread of rabies in
land-based animals since 1990.
- Tuberculosis Data from
the North Carolina Tuberculosis Control Program - Annual NC Tuberculosis
Statistical Summary includes county specific number of cases and rates. Additional
reports focus on Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis Cases and Reported Tuberculosis
Cases in Foreign Born Persons.

Women's and Children's Health
- Asthma Program
Office Surveillance - Asthma Epidemiology Updates as well as the Burden of Asthma in North Carolina report. Also has links to presentations made by Asthma Program staff.
- The North Carolina Pregnancy
Nutrition Surveillance System (PNSS) supports the efforts of the Women’s
Health and WIC programs providing accurate and timely information on pregnancy
risk factors and outcomes of low-income women. Through annual reports,
PNSS data is made available for use by public health professionals and
other interested groups in evaluating the health status of pregnant women,
targeting high-risk groups, and planning interventions - both community
and statewide.
- NC Healthy Weight Initiative - Results
from the NC Nutrition and Physical Activity Surveillance System (NC-NPASS) on child health indicators of nutritional status including the prevalence of underweight, healthy weight, at-risk for overweight and overweight for North Carolina counties.
